Mixed Media Sketchbook techniques. Includes Gum Arabic transfer.
This is Sue Brown’s signature workshop.
Using Gum Arabic and the humble black-and-white photocopy as your ‘plate’, you can make prints of photographic images. Together with a variety of mixed media techniques using ink, oil pastel, bleach and acrylic learn how to create personal sketchbook pages and artist books.
An ideal workshop to kick start your creativity. (Please bring strongly contrasting toner photocopies and sketchbooks).
About Sue Brown:
Springing from the pages of her sketchbooks and inspired by all things ornithological, Sue has made collagraphs for 18 years. Collagraph is an intaglio printmaking process which involves making a collage combining tile cement, carborundum and found textures. The technique produces prints with deeply textural surfaces.
Sue is fascinated by our relationship and interaction with birds in our environment and is continually inspired by the bird visitors to her town garden.
Passionate about promoting the understanding of the artist print and the contemporary use of traditional craft techniques, Sue leads workshops and demonstrations for groups of all ages nationally in a wide variety of intaglio and mixed media sketchbook processes.
