Working on aluminium plates using less-toxic methods, we'll push beyond the fundamentals, exploring the sophisticated interplay of fine line and rich tone to build complex, expressive, and layered images.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOver two days, you'll have the time and space to really get to grips with the process: experimenting more freely, refining your mark-making, and developing a more considered and personal approach to your work. Aluminium is a wonderfully responsive material, capable of real subtlety and nuance, and with two full days together we can explore its possibilities in depth.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOver the two days you will:\u003cbr\u003e• Develop your approach to designing for etching, working from reference photographs,\u003cbr\u003eobservational sketches, or your own imagination, with an emphasis on building stronger and more considered compositions\u003cbr\u003e• Deepen your mark-making vocabulary, exploring a wider range of techniques to create fine lines, expressive texture, and nuanced tone directly into the plate\u003cbr\u003e• Work through multiple stages of grounding, etching, inking, wiping, and printing, building confidence and consistency across a series of plates\u003cbr\u003e• Experiment with layering and reworking plates to add depth and complexity to your prints\u003cbr\u003e• Learn alongside a small group of fellow printmakers, sharing ideas and discoveries that spark new directions in your own work\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJenny's teaching style is relaxed, supportive, and full of practical insight, creating a friendly and focused environment where you can experiment freely, ask the questions you've been saving up, and make real progress in your own creative practice.\u003cbr\u003eAll materials are provided. Jenny works mainly with intaglio printmaking methods preferring metal plate etchings and collagraph. Her work always starts with drawing and the technical challenge of turning a simple piece of metal or card into a piece of art. She breathes life into the plates with her decisive, quick, and animated mark-making.
