This booking is for two consecutive Fridays.

Collagraph printing uses a variety of textures to create interesting and varied printing plates.

You will start on session one by making a card-cut plate using board and tapes. You will learn how raised and recessed areas print along with textures and glossy surfaces. You will be able to experiment with the inking process to create a small set of prints using one of the studio presses. You will then make a traditional collagraph plate that will be varnished ready for the next session.

Session two you will be able to explore further inking techniques to print your collagraph plate and there will also be time to return to your card-cut plate and create more prints.

There will be lots of opportunity to experiment, ask questions and explore this printmaking process.

This workshop is taught by guest tutor, Tricia Johnson.

These classes are social, relaxed sessions aimed at all abilities. We will learn a wide variety of techniques from relief printing, screen printing, intaglio printing, dyeing and batik. Most sessions are single mornings but occasionally the technique will require two sessions so this will require both to be booked - the choice is yours!

Inks and some papers are provided. Suitable for all - experienced or not.

£50 for both sessions.
