Create marbled papers in the traditional Japanese style of ‘floating Ink’ on water.
You will learn the technique to float ink on water and how to transfer your image onto paper. We will work with black sumi ink, but you may like to experiment with coloured drawing inks if you would like to bring those. You may also like to bring some different types of paper to marble (long fibre papers are best).
This course is taught by guest tutor, Tricia Johnson.
These classes are social, relaxed sessions aimed at all abilities. We will learn a wide variety of techniques from relief printing, screen printing, intaglio printing, dyeing and batik. Most sessions are single mornings but occasionally the technique will require two sessions so this will require both to be booked - the choice is yours!
Inks are provided. Suitable for all - experienced or not.
