Take time to slow down and indulge in a bit of 'me' time with these gentle watercolour work-along sessions. We will potter about with paint and paper working our way through an absorbing project, emersed in the pleasure of the process.

In this session we will take our inspiration from winter leaves and berries, creating a decorative wreath or border design using paint, print and linework. There will be colour mixing demos, and some simple printing techniques using foam or food packaging. Add a little linework, a spot of spattering and maybe a bit of bling to complete your image!

You can work small to make your images into Christmas cards or large and loose - the choice is yours!

There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction in this fun and informal workshop.

You will need to bring:
Watercolour paper or Mixed Media paper (A4 or bigger)
Drawing pencil; dip pen if you have one (the tutor will also bring some)
Watercolours - whatever you have - if buying specially just buy primary colours and white (the tutor will bring some)
Mixing palette, brushes (whatever you have - the tutor will also bring some)
Kitchen roll
Inspiration/ source material (winter foliage if you have some, or pictures of some - the tutor will also bring some)
Some materials will also be available in the Handprinted Shop

Karen is an enthusiastic and experienced tutor specialising in printmaking, acrylics and mixed media. Her method of teaching is both informal but instructional, aiming to encourage everyone’s creativity in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Having worked for many years as a commercial artist she now divides her time between teaching and pursuing her own work, with involvement in exhibitions, studio trails and private commissions.

All of our workshops take place in the Handprinted Studio, 22 Arun Business Park, Shripney Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO22 9SX.
