Fab Friday – Block Printing on Textiles – 5th March 2027

10am - 1pm

Learn to carve your own relief block onto mounted lino and use it to print a repeat pattern onto fabric. Explore different ways to create a repeating square block. You can use the same block to create multiple styles of repeat. Print onto lengths of fabric, or ready-made interior textiles such as a cushion cover, pillow case or fabric for a lampshade kit etc. Bring your own, upcycle an old piece, or buy a new tea towel or tote bag from the Handprinted shop to print onto.

Inks and equipment provided but please bring fabric to print onto. A small length of white or pale coloured cotton is ideal. Lengths of white cotton, tea towels and bags available in the shop on the day if needed.

Do you need more time to finish your print? The studio is usually available after the workshop has finished for open access studio time – pay £5 per hour to stay and work independently. Just pay on the day for studio time and any extra materials used. To book, email shop@handprinted.co.uk, or just let us know during the class if you'd like to stay on.
