Join us for a comprehensive two-day silkscreen printing workshop led by North Yorkshire artist and printmaker Angela Hall. Angela specialises in creating expressive and spontaneous prints inspired by her sketchbook studies, drawing subject matter from a variety of sources including domestic interiors, gardens, urban architecture, travel, and landscapes. Her artwork is distinguished by bold contour lines, minimal imagery, and a strong underlying narrative, achieved through layered mark-making, texture, and carefully blended colour.
Angela employs both photographic and monoprint silkscreen processes, utilising hand-painted and collaged stencils, and she maintains a refined, textural colour palette by mixing inks directly on the screen.
Throughout the workshop, Angela will demonstrate how she transforms initial concepts from sketchbook into finished prints. Participants will explore a range of experimental silkscreen printing techniques including getting started with simple hand-painted monoprints and paper stencils to generating images for photo silkscreen. Angela will also offer practical insights and tips for establishing a home studio practice.
Participants will have the opportunity to produce a small edition of prints, combining different silkscreen techniques while gaining a comprehensive understanding of technical aspects such as creating photo stencils from various materials and effective colour mixing.
This workshop is suitable for both beginners and those with prior experience who wish to develop their skills or experiment with new approaches.

Angela Hall has worked as a full-time printmaker for the past seven years and is the author of “Silkscreen in the Home Studio,” a publication detailing her printmaking methods and artistic influences. She exhibits regularly at national print fairs and in galleries across the UK.
All of our workshops take place in our Handprinted Studio, 22 Arun Business Park, Shripney Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO22 9SX.
