Watercolour: Sea, Sand & Sky with Karen Carter - Thursday 24th September pm

Hold on to that holiday feeling with a fun workshop capturing the colours and light of sea, sand and sky!

We will begin with colour mixing to create a palette of blues from Caribbean turquoise to deep dark stormy seas.
Working in an illustrative style we will use variety of techniques including resists, sgraffito, and white pen and paint, and play with layers and textures to capture a coastal scene….perfect for cards, wall art or simply to keep in your sketchbooks. 

Absolutely no experience needed for this fun and informal workshop – just bring a big apron and prepare to play! Karen will also be teaching Watercolour: Paint and Print a Pile of Pebbles from 10am -12.20 - why not book both and make a day of it?

There will be lots of demos & step-by-step instruction in this fun and informal workshop.

You will need to bring:
Heavy watercolour paper or Mixed Media paper (A4 or bigger)
Drawing pencil
Watercolours – whatever you have – if buying specially just buy primary colours and white (the tutor will also bring some to share with the group)
Mixing palette – a plate is fine, brushes (whatever you have – the tutor will bring some to borrow)
Kitchen roll

Karen is an enthusiastic and experienced tutor specialising in printmaking, acrylics and mixed media. .Her method of teaching is both informal but instructional, aiming to encourage everyone’s creativity in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Having worked for many years as a commercial artist she now divides her time between teaching and pursuing her own work, with involvement in exhibitions, studio trails and private commissions.
